Hello friends! January is #birthdefectsawarenessmonth. My friend Sarah Diamond has a non-profit that helps to support families that have children with birth defects. This organization works with other local businesses and providers to give families resources, support and care packages while in the hospital with their newborns. Sarah experienced this need with her youngest child, and was blessed to have some folks help her in a time of need. She started, along with her other board members this non-profit to give back and help families just like hers.
Sarah, being new to Hutchinson since her move here during Covid, would like to introduce her non-profit to our community. We have planned a fundraising event and a creative paint night at Splinters-N-Rust. We are also working with the new Culinary Arts program The Clayworks at Disability Supports to provide us with some delicious appetizers for the event! Disability Supports works to enrich the lives of the disabled in our community. We are excited to have them as a sponsor for this event as we believe they are in invaluable resource for families in our community.

Thank you to Salt City Electric for installing these amazing commercial grade permanent lights! Give them a call if you are interested in more information (commercial & residential permanent )

I want to give a special shout out to my painting student Matt from @the_clayworks - McPherson! Matt never missed a session and was a fun guy to work with and tackled this project with a great attitude!! Even with some visual hurdles, Matt was able to do the value study AND the underpainting washes on two large paintings for the hospital project! Great Job Matt!
You will see these paintings again as they are finished up by another student Andre, in the coming weeks. Both students will get 100% credit and proceeds from one full painting even though we are working as a team on these two paintings!
Matt has named the Beaver painting "Frankie D. Beaver". I can't wait to see what Andre names the raccoon painting!
